Counselling Service

A safe space for you to grow.

Hi my name is Grace (she/her)

I am a person-centred counsellor, which means I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space in which you can explore your emotions.

I look forward to walking alongside you as you begin your therapeutic journey.

Counselling is a form of talking therapy.

My specialism is in person-centred counselling, which was founded by Carl Rogers in the 1940's.

Carl Rogers believed that, given the right conditions, a person can reach their full potential and become their true self, which he termed ‘self-actualisation’. This actualisation process is within us and accessible to everyone.

As a counsellor, I am here to help guide you through this process.
Do you ever feel unheard?

Do you ever feel alone in your emotions?

I am here to provide a safe space in which you can explore your emotions whilst being heard and understood.

Our sessions will be held either face to face or remotely (telephone or online video chat). For face to face sessions, please be aware I am based near Shaw and Crompton Tram Station.

I will never force you to disclose anything, or pressure you into talking about things you are not ready to. I am here to be non-directive and to hold the space for you to discuss your experiences.

We will take the sessions at your pace.

How much will each session cost?

Sessions will cost £40-£50 per 1 hour session.

How do I know if this is right for me?

I offer a free 15-30 minute initial consultation to discuss what is bringing you to counselling and whether I am the best person for you.

This initial session will provide you with the chance to ask any questions you may have. It is important to note that you can finish sessions whenever you feel ready and there is no obligation to complete a set number of sessions. We take sessions at your pace.

What is your availability?

Currently, my availability is:

Monday-Thursday: 5pm-7pm
Friday: 8am-2pm

I am also available for the occasional weekend appointment.

Where are you based?

I currently hold face to face sessions in a venue situated very close to Shaw and Crompton Tram Station. Please get in touch to gain further information of the specific location.

Is it just counselling that you offer?

Not only do I offer counselling sessions, but I also offer mindfulness sessions. I have recently completed a Diploma in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), which is ideal for if you are struggling with stress, chronic pain or generally feeling overwhelmed. Drop me a message to find out more information!

I am an employer - Can I refer my employees through to you for counselling?

Of course! I do have several employers who at present, refer their staff through to me for counselling sessions. Please drop me a message to find out more information regarding employee referrals.

I will be taking personal information in our initial session such as your name, telephone number and email address. Further personal information will be taken to ensure your safety in case of an emergency. This will discussed further in our initial session together.

This counselling service is confidential, meaning everything you disclose will be kept private. However, there are rare occasions in which confidentiality will be broken. This would be if I have concerns for your safety; the safety of a child or vulnerable adult; any acts/knowledge of money laundering, terrorism, drug trafficking.

I will be making notes on our sessions together in order to monitor your progress, but these notes will be kept annonymised and in a locked cabinet that only I have access to.

I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (Ref: C1301999) meaning I am committed to compliance with Data Protection and GDPR Laws.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). The BACP is a professional body which provides an ethical framework which ensures good practice. My membership number is: 00958073
